Those who have known Purium, know how deeply we care about the overall health of our Earth and all its inhabitants. While our co-founders Dave Sandoval and Amy Venner-Hamdi recognized the power of superfoods long ago, our pure + premium commitment to our superfoods\’ mission grows even stronger as we meet new friends of Purium.
In honor of our growing impact that positively influences both the health of people and our environment, we\’d love to take a moment and reflect on where we started and where we are today.
The Beginning
Dave and Amy shared two similar beliefs: raw, natural foods should be both accessible and affordable for everyone; and food should be sustainable and conscious to Mother Earth.
\”I looked around and saw the world eating and drinking foods that were polluting their bodies…and that needed to change,\” Dave says. \”So I decided to \’be the change.\’\”
With only a few products to start, Dave and Amy hand-selected organic farmers to help produce pure and premium superfoods. Gathering new skills and knowledge gained from those experiences as well as their own personal ventures (Dave authoring The Green Bible and Amy, a wife and mother of two, founding the Million Mom Movement ), their mission and reach expanded.
In turn, Dave and Amy\’s responsibilities did, too. Dividing up the duties, the business duo learned how to tag-team. Dave researched and formulated, while Amy obtained GMP certifications and nurtured operations. And like a sunflower bulb planted in the gritty earth, the business blossomed into something beautiful.
Now
22 years later, as grocery stores have increased unnecessary waste, Amy and Dave are more empowered than ever to bring Purium to the marketplace. Blending superfoods erases the middle-man, reducing waste and maximizing consumer-convenience. Our stable powders can live up to two years, giving more time to enjoy every single nutrient.
With a corporate staff of over 100 employees, Amy and Dave created 6 Core Values to ensure that their influence and ethics were company-standard. Yet, the two are daily influences as they are still passionately threaded within each department at Purium.
Visionary Dave continues to be the leader behind every new eco-initiative and product, many of which have broken molds in the health and wellness industry, with products like CBD+, a potent and pure CBD blend, and the innovative, proprietary Biome Medic, which is the first-ever Gold Standard Glyphosate-Detox-certified supplement.
And, President Amy continues to push for certifications, while she also oversees day-to-day operations and tactfully provides quick solutions to difficult problems, on top of raising a family.
